Pattern is a fundamental part of design, adding depth and visual kudos as well as texture, diversity and colour.
Now, I happen to know from experience that many people are scared of introducing and piling on pattern - and when I sae pattern I mean anything striped, flowered, checked, graphic or geometric. Certainly, if you want your space to look and feel cohesive, you do need to be smart when it comes to mixing things up.
But, fear not. If you're new to the pattern game, it's easy to start small. Accessories and textiles and the simplest route to go down, so add a couple of contrasting patterned cushions, decorative vases or rugs, and see the dimensions of your room change before your eyes.
